in someone ’ s life . That is a big goal in this project , the fact that someone ’ s life is going to be changed by this ,” says Krentz . With his help and guidance , the students of FRCTC ’ s program completely refurbished the donated vehicle , including the exterior , interior , engine and transmission . Brandon Kirkpatrick , CRT 2016 graduate and now a technician at Flagship Collision , said his favorite part of the experience took place while still a student :
“ When we finished the car , I was just thinking to myself when I went home every day that someone great is going to have this car . Then , we are going to be able to pick that person and they ’ re going to have a better life because of our hard work .”
All the parts and materials used in the refurbishment of the vehicle were donated by neighboring local businesses . Flagship and Krentz were proud to work with local businesses on this initiative to help people and / or families have the capability to be where they need to be , when they need to be there .
This is the second Recycled Ride that FRCTC has donated . In January of 2016 , a single mother with two children received a 2011 Toyota Corolla at the World of Wheels Car Show .
