on the southwest corner of the
intersection of Avonia Road and
Water Street in the village of Fairview.
The village area, once commonly
called Sturgeonville and incorporated
as Fairview Borough from 1868
through 1997, is the largest settlement
in Fairview Township. For more

A great place to take your little
firefighter to learn more! The
Firefighters Historical Museum was
founded in 1969 and moved into
its present site in 1976. Operated by an
all‑volunteer staff, the museum is located
in old Erie Fire Department Station #4 and
is dedicated to all firefighters who have
risked and lost their lives while saving the
lives and property of their fellow residents.

LAKE SHORE RAILWAY MUSEUM

Lake Shore Railway Museum is such a great
place to visit if you’re a rail fan. There are
locomotives and railcars on the museum
grounds, railroad exhibits inside and the
very popular gift shop, where you can get
all sorts of railroad and train‑related books,
magazines, t‑shirts, caps, pins, postcards and

NORTH EAST HISTORICAL
SOCIETY MUSEUM

The museum features changing displays
of local history. It is located inside the 1880
town hall, which served as the town’s fire
hall from 1885 to 1996. The building also

The Valley School is an authentic 1853
one‑room schoolhouse that has been
relocated to the Northwestern School
District campus. The schoolhouse is
