Dear MASD Community,
The McKeesport Area School District is a busy place in the final months of the
traditional school year. With only about 50 days until the end of the school year,
most of my messages between now and then will concentrate on preparing
students for the challenges that are ahead; especially those awaiting Seniors!
No doubt the Class of 2017 is counting down their days as MASD students.
This is an exciting time of year! It’s hard to believe that this year has gone by so
quickly. However, the way all of us complete the remainder of the school year will
determine how the year and the Class for 2017 will be remembered.
Our teachers will continue to challenge and teach using the very best of
teaching strategies. Each of our schools uses professional development time to
look at instructional strategies in order to make sure we are on the cutting edge
of instruction. We live in a technological age and are committed that students
learn through technology. We will continue to infuse technology into the classroom in order to prepare our
students for the challenges of the future. We will continue to work as a team in order to better serve the needs of
our students. We expect all students to reach their full potential and contribute responsibly in our society.
As we pursue our mission, we invite and encourage the participation of all of our constituents. We know
it is critical that we strive to build lasting relationships with students, parents, staff and the community. Each
relationship must be nurtured in order to achieve greater results. I encourage all students, staff, and parents to
focus on a strong finish to the year!
