North Hills Community Outreach invites runners of all abilities to run one of the races of the Dick ’ s Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon on May 6 and 7 . The number-one volunteer service request by seniors in Allegheny County is a ride to the doctor ’ s office . Do you have an hour to help ? United Way ’ s Open Your Heart to a Senior volunteers can take seniors to appointments or the grocery store , deliver meals , help at senior centers , take a senior out for dinner , do light yardwork and much more . This year ’ s Lighthouse Lot Sale , a community trunk and vendor sale , will take place on June 3 from 9 a . m . to 2 p . m . The event will include a basket auction , live music , great food , hourly giveaways and more . Outdoor spaces and indoor direct vendor tables are available for $ 25 each . CRAFTERS NEEDED FOR FUNDRAISER
The Sisters of Divine Providence will hold the 3rd Annual Craft Extravaganza on Saturday , Oct . 7 , from 10 a . m . to 3 p . m . at Providence Heights , the historic landmark building located at 9000 Babcock Boulevard in Allison Park .
Crafters are needed to participate in the event . The fee for one 8-ft . table with two chairs is $ 35 . Crafters may reserve up to two tables . Tables are awarded on a first-come , first-served basis .
