BELLE VOCI MAKES DONATIONS TO LOCAL FOOD BANK
SQUAW RUN GARDEN CLUB ANNUAL FLOWER SALE
Belle Voci Board of Directors Chairperson Kenda Hammer and Artistic Director Craig Cannon delivered the food and gift card donations to the Homewood-Brushton YMCA Food Bank . Food Bank Coordinator NeeNee Edwards was there to receive the donations .
In keeping with the choir ’ s mission of “ blending service with song ,” Belle Voci of Pittsburgh sponsored a food drive to benefit the Homewood-Brushton YMCA Food Bank at the group ’ s recent performance “ Belle Voci á Natale .” Volunteers from Belle Voci and Food Bank Coordinator NeeNee Edwards accepted donations of non-perishable food items and gift cards from concert patrons . Belle Voci Board of Directors Chairperson Kenda Hammer and Artistic Director Craig Cannon delivered the donations , valued at nearly $ 1,000 , to the Homewood-Brushton food bank . The Squaw Run Garden Club will hold its annual flower sale on Saturday , May 6 , at Squaw Valley Park in O ’ Hara Twp . from 9 a . m . to 2 p . m .
A wonderful selection of annuals , perennials , herbs , vegetables , hanging baskets and planters will be for sale in addition to the ever-popular perennial plants dug from the members ’ gardens . Proceeds from the sale benefit local projects such as the Aspinwall Riverfront Park , Cooper-Siegel Community Library , Lauri Ann West Community Center and Camp Guyasuta . Additionally , the club provides educational grants to local schools .
SPIN YOUR WHEELS FUNDRAISER
On April 1 from 9 a . m . to 4 p . m ., the third annual Spin Your Wheels fundraiser will be held at Axle Fitness , located at 1913 Fox Chapel Rd . The event will include something for everyone . Riders will be able to test their stamina by choosing to ride from one to four hours . Non-cyclists can enjoy an hour of Strong by Zumba , a bootcamp and yoga . The event will also include a basket auction , refreshments , a live DJ and a Kids Fun Fitness Challenge for the younger exercisers .
