Summer comes alive between Memorial Day and Labor Day at the Avonworth Community Park Pool, a public swimming pool complete with a slide, diving board, baby pool, changing facilities, and a snack bar. This 220-acre site is a non-traditional borough park that can be used for hiking, birdwatching, etc. The park also contains the Bell Acres Trail, which was created with a joint effort of the Quaker Valley High School Earthforce 2001 Group and Bell Acres Borough. The trail is a quarter-mile long and ends at the Merriman House foundation. The Merriman family is believed to be the first settlers in the area. There are no facilities located at this park. Named after noted mystery writer Mary Roberts Rinehart, the park was once part of Mrs. Rinehart’s estate.
