GARBAGE AND RECYCLING UPDATES

Beginning January of this year , garbage and recycling collection services are being provided by Waste Management . The transition has presented a few challenges . New 64-gallon recycling containers were delivered the last week of March . Please read the directions on how to utilize the container and placement for pickup . If you did not receive a new container , please call Waste Management at 1-800-866-4460 .

All residents , except for Glencannon ( served by Republic Services ) and the homeowners associations that are picked up by Waste Management , will be utilizing the new 64-gallon container . Glencannon residents serviced by Republic Services and residents of homeowners associations serviced by Waste Management will continue to use the 25 gallon container issued by the township .
If you would like to continue to use the old 25-gallon container as a spare TRASH container , please pick up a sticker ( TRASH ) to be placed over the recycling wording . If not , you can return the old 25-gallon container to the township .
A reminder that all trash / recycling should be placed at curbside the night before ( no sooner than 6:00 pm and by 6:00 am ) to ensure uninterrupted service . Make sure trash is visible and within three feet of the curb . Trash should be to one side of driveway and the recyclables to the other side . Service times may vary depending on operational issues , weather , etc .
• All trash shall be placed in a receptacle not more than 32 gallons .
• To dispose of water-based paint , use cat litter or sawdust to dry the paint and place at the curb with the lid removed .
• Tree trimmings and brush clippings must be secured in manageable bundles with lengths no greater than 3 feet and branch diameters no larger than 3 inches , weighing less than 33 pounds .
• Carpet must be cut in 4 ’ x4 ’ sections , rolled up and secured at both ends . Each section must weigh less than 33 pounds .
• Do not use any container marked with hazardous waste or recycling containers for your trash .
• All trash must be bagged . No trash can be accepted loose in bins or cans .
• Recycling material must be placed in the new container supplied by Waste Management .
• Residents of Glencannon and other homeowners associations will still use the 25-gallon container for recycling . They may use a spare container clearly marked “ Recycling ” if needed . The township has stickers available that can be placed on those spare containers .
• Do not place anything at or near the curb that is not to be disposed of .
