REBUILDING BRENTWOOD FOR THE FUTURE !

“ Temporary Inconvenience – Permanent Improvement ”
If you thought 2016 was a busy year with over $ 3 million in Capital Improvement Projects throughout the Borough 2017 is picking up where last year left off with nearly $ 4 million in Capital Improvements planned and budgeted .
Here is the list of the projects that Brentwood Borough anticipating to do in year of 2017 .
2017 Capital improvements projects include but not limited to :
1 . Approved lists of the roads for paving and road rehabilitation in 2017
• Lora Way from Lanmore to Lawnview
• Dailey Road from Radison to Pointview
• Bannon from Marylea to Lanmore
• Brednick from Brownsville Road to Dalewood
• Brednick from Dalewood to Cloverlea
• Bookman from West Garden to Laveton
• Munsey from Steps to Kaufmann
• Munsey from Kaufmann to Shadewell
2 . Year 2 of the Borough ’ s Sidewalk Cost Sharing Improvement Project will continue with the success from last year . In addition to any sidewalks along the above streets , the following areas will also be eligible this year for the program .
• Pyramid Avenue
• Brentwood Avenue
• Clermont Avenue
3 . Sanitary and Storm sewer CCTV and repairs to maintain and improve infrastructure will continue throughout the Borough .
4 . Brentwood Borough public pool complete reconstruction is scheduled to begin as soon as the pool closes at the end of the 2017 season .
The Borough continues to invest in and prepare for its future . The Borough continues to learn and grow from taking on these major projects and doing a majority of the engineering and project management in-house in order to save on costs and stretch those dollars to include as many projects as we can . We learned a lot from last year ’ s road program and from the very patient residents on Dauphin St ., Villawood Avenue , Shadyway Drive , and Kingsley Street . Trying to coordinate utility repairs with the Borough ’ s paving program to avoid a utility from tearing up a recently paved street was a challenge . We have learned a lot and are working closely with the utility companies to improve on this coordinated process to reduce the impact and inconveniences caused to the residents . One such area will be with doing a better job of informing the residents of these many projects . To assist those that will be directly impacted by the above projects , the Borough will be setting up a Capital Project section on the Borough ’ s web site to list the progress , contractor information , contact information , project schedule as well as any issues to keep everyone informed .
Thank you all for your patience and input as we continue to improve the Borough as well as the process .
