SCIENCE CLUB STUDENTS HAVE FUN PARTICIPATING IN SEVERAL HANDS-ON ACTIVITIES

The 60 students in the Neil Armstrong Middle School Science Club are having a great year participating in several hands-on activities !

Because the group is so large , they are divided into two groups of 30 , and they meet with Club Sponsor Mrs . Hirzel once a month .
For example , in October , the students were able to taste test Jell-O that glowed in the dark under a black light !
In November , the students began participating in Physics Quest , a middle school science competition , sponsored by the American Physical Society . Through this program the students are exploring currents , electricity and lighting , and even using Play Dough as a wire substitute !

As the year goes on , the students will explore the science of their senses , optical illusions and solar science . ethel Park
