3. Show Strength not Power

Positional power includes:

Setting budgets and controlling finances

Cutting costs or increasing investment

Deciding people's salaries and bonuses, and who to hire or fire

Determining direction and setting strategy and structure

Positional power is often confused with Individual power. This happens when it's used by insecure leaders for self-fulfilling purposes and in order to control people or situations.

Look at the leader who must make every decision, review all correspondence, and have the final word on how things are done. This is fear; a fear of loss of control.

The higher the position in an organisation the more power there is.
