Big Monday

Money Tip

his week's BIG MONDAY

MONEY TIP was

suggested by Natalie, our

Club Assistant in Student Development - Thank you Natalie!

Voting to expend funds

When your club has funds in one or both of your accounts (remember: clubs have 2 types - Fundraising Account and Grant Account). Your club will need to vote to expend funds ANY TIME you are going to be using funds. Keep in mind, your club needs to have QUORUM at the meeting at which you are going to be voting to expend funds. You will be voting on an estimated amount, so the TIP IS:

Always vote to use MORE money than you have originally estimated the event will cost. This is because you can always spend less than you vote to expend, but you cannot use more than you have voted to expend.

Any money that your club does not spend will drop back in to the account from which it originated.

For example, if you voted to expend funds from:

1. your club's fundraising account, left over money will be placed back in your Fundraising Account.

2. funds that your club has earned by attending events and workshops will be placed back in your club's Grant Account.

3. funds that your club has requested from ICC or ASG for an event or purchase will be placed back in the ICC or ASG account for other clubs and organizations to request the use of.
