f3 is a futures-oriented film and TransMedia spectacle showcasing productions focused on the nature of what the future was , is , can be , should and should not be .
100 + futures films f3 will feature 100 + films and stories all relating to the future plus 3D projection mapping , virtual reality , augmented reality and more . f3 is a futures-focused film , transmedia super event that has its inception from my own academic days at FUTURE UNIVERSITY HAKODATE in Japan . It was there that , given a carte blanche by my university employers to create curricula around the themes of Futures + Media , f3 emerged organically from the hundreds of short films , virtual reality worlds , simulations and online games developed by my students from 2004 to 2012 .
Fast-forward to now , the f3 futures film & transmedia superevent is to be an annual event scheduled for delivery to a global audience beginning the month of September 2017 at Australia ’ s most futuristic city – Springfield . The f3 Secretariat want to engage WFSF Members and allied networks for this gamechanging inaugural one-week event . f3 will advance and promote the concepts of Futures and Foresight , and is the first event of its kind that applies Futures to the quickly maturing worlds of new media and storytelling .
The f3 Media Dome An emerging initiative for the f3 meta-event involves the procurement of an f3 dome which will function variously as f3 HQ , ongoing TEDx type events around futures-meets-media and as experimental / experiential lab for futures media production .

VISIONARIES UN-CONVENTION A gathering of visionary scholars and researchers mingled with media industry movers & shakers . Key themes will explore : Roles and potential for Futures thought and action synergized through media , and storytelling – digital and non , and beyond . Beyond Creative Cities to Futures-Oriented Communities : In the wake of the largely failed Creative Cities discourses and initiatives that characterized the early 2000s , f3 aims to generate novel ways of framing communities in terms of futures-orientation .
2D / 3D + FUTURES IMAGES AND STORIES Films and television programs + 3D images of diverse futures across various formats such as Virtual Reality , Augmented Reality , Mixed Reality , 3D dome projection mapping and more . We envisage 20 or more futures theme clusters including recent spekfik , retro futures , futurementaries , f3 junior , indigenous futures , and so on .
FUZIK Multiple venue performances around the idea of futures themes woven into various genres . Candidates include Zager and Evans ’ In the year 2525 , Ryuichi Sakamoto ( Academy-Award winning musician ) from the album Mirai-ha Yarou ( Futurist Bastards !); Robert Downey Junior ’ s album The Futurist ; selections from artist known as Future Girl ; and others .
VISIONARY FOODS Explores all aspects around the futures of food ingredients , ways of preparing foods , transportation , storage , and consumption .
