We asked Hult alum, Rajat Saxena, who works at PwC in the U.S. to tell us more about life at this major accounting firm. Rajat, what do you like about working for PwC? The culture and energy at PwC is amazing. Even though PwC is large in size, it still has the energy of a start-up. The talent pool and strong network that we have at the firm is outstanding. People are hardworking and helpful to each other. The firm fosters a culture of collaboration and provides everyone with opportunities to grow. Why did you choose to work for PwC? The prestige factor and given that PwC is one of the top five consulting firm in the world was the key deciding factor for me. Being the largest professional services firm in the world, PwC provided me with a strong brand, exciting projects, and an opportunity to work with highly talented people. What tips or advice would you give Hult graduates looking to work at PwC? A large part of working at PwC is about being analytical, dynamic, versatile, and willing to take the lead as and when the situation demands. Fabio Schmitt and Rita Mary Yachoui, give us the lowdown on working at EY in the U.S. Fabio, what’s it really like working for EY? EY is a great place to work. I am a manager for Transaction Advisory Services and like most deal and M&A environments it can be very demanding with tight timelines and lots of travel but at the same time offering incredible experiences and learning. EY also really lives up to its stand on diversity, I have colleagues from a myriad of cultures, backgrounds, and ethnicities, and that makes a really interesting and friendly working environment. Finally, in terms of career progress, EY offers a clear career path with established goals. What tips or advice would you give Hult graduates looking to work at EY? My first piece of advice for graduates is to be specific about what you want. A firm the size of EY has many service lines, and thus opportunities, so knowing which position suits your career goals the best is a great starting point. Secondly, prior experience makes a big difference. For some positions an MBA degree is a pre-requisite so every candidate will have one and therefore experience is the differentiator. Be prepared to talk about your experiences and how they relate to the qualifications and requirements of the position you are interviewing for. Finally, use your network, most
