The gateway to the Americas Thanks to its strategic location and wide, safe bay, the port city of Cartagena was a major point of entry for the Spanish and other colonial powers. The city remains well-connected with the rest of the world to this day. You can fly directly to Rafael Núñez International Airport from Bogotá, Panama City, Fort Lauderdale, and Miami.
