Here we showcase a small selection of the alumni elective options for summer 2013. Hult Boston—22 Electives Hult San Francisco—21 Electives Managing Emerging Technologies Social & Sustainable Ventures in the Bay Area The course focuses on the strategic dynamics of technology-intensive industries. Technology industries often have distinctive features which challenge conventional wisdom regarding economic, market, and organizational dynamics. Case studies will be drawn from technologies and industries such as electric vehicles, video games, telecommunications, wind turbines, medical equipment, software, industrial technologies, and television. Discussions will occur both in a traditional format as well as in a student-led seminar format where different teams present different cases, in order to expose students to as many new technologies and issues as possible. This course is a hands-on exploration of the nature of entrepreneurial and intrapreneurial ventures that focus on generating a tangible positive impact on people and the planet while being profitable. In order to meet these objectives, we need to cover diverse perspectives and will conduct a learning and networking journey for a set of structured, insight-yielding conversations with leaders in startups, corporations, venture capital firms, impact-investors, and incubators. Faculty, staff, and students will contribute equally to the selection of ventures to ensure the content meets students’ interests. Each alumni member is entitled to take one free elective course per year (please note: a small fee for course materials does apply) at a Hult campus. Electives are a fantastic way to catch up with all the latest business trends and develop new skills and knowledge. It is also a great opportunity to re-visit Hult campuses and meet the latest generation of Hult students. Registration for 2013 electives closed on April 12th. I took Professor Vannoni’s electives to stay up to date with the latest developments. I was not disappointed as he managed, like no other professor, to bring current ideas and trends into the classroom. His ability to get everybody involved and to participate was also excellent.” Alejandro Vera Trade Marketing Manager, Pfizer (Pharmaceuticals) MBA 2012, London Peruvian 10 Faculty: Rob Anthony (Professor of Global Management) MBA, Harvard Business School Faculty: Dr. Olaf Groth (Professor of Global Strategy, Economics, Management & Innovation) PhD, Fletcher School at Tufts University
