Bordering the renowned 17th ‘Road Hole’ of the Old Course, the Old Course Hotel, Golf Resort & Spa overlooks the famous links courses, the West Sands Beach and the Scottish coastline. The AA Five Star hotel has 144 rooms including 35 suites. Shortly after Carter’s arrival as GM, the Old Course Hotel was named ‘Scotland’s Best Hotel’ at the Scottish Entertainment & Hospitality Awards. The Old Course Hotel topped the public vote in a category that included Auchrannie Resort, Carmeron House Hotel, The Balmoral and Lochside Hotel & Spa. New GM Stephen Carter said: “It is a real honour for this iconic hotel to be named as ‘Scotland’s Best’. I’d like to thank each and every associate at the hotel who has played their part in our success - as well as our guests who have taken the time and trouble to vote for us.” The resort’s Hams Hame Pub & Grill in St Andrews was also shortlisted - for ‘Scotland’s Best Burger’. The pub and restaurant – beneath Hamilton Grand behind the Old Course’s 18th green secured a place in Scotland’s top ten.
