Fitness by the Beach:
- Snorkeling
- Diving
- Digging in the sand- and I mean really pushing sand with your arms and legs! MY FAVORITE!!!
- Sand Volleyball
- Walking or running the beach while barefoot
- Yoga
- Lunges the length of your beach towel
Other Fitness ideas:
- Frisbee
- Throwing a football
- Shoot some hoops
- Jumping on a trampoline
- Find a new park and use those monkey bars, or do step ups on a bench
- Find a local stadium and run the length of the fields, use the stairs- a great one for long drives and to get
out some built up energy
No matter where you are headed this summer, there are activities you can do with your family or alone that
will keep you active and moving. Many of those listed above involve strength from your body of some sort.
There is really no reason to just sit there because it's summer, it's hot and maybe you don’t have a gym at
your destination; being outdoors allows you to use your body in an entirely different way while still
engaging muscles! And to be honest, involving nature and taking it back to childhood activities is the finest
form of medicine!
