Staying Motivated to Eat Healthy! The New Year has started! We are now into February and almost to March. How are your goals unfolding? Are you staying motivated? Have you stuck to your plan? A lot of people are always extremely motivated once the new year hits, but a few months in people start trading in those fruits and veggies for pizza and pop tarts. Diet is always a tough part of any weight loss journey, but it is by far the most important component. It can very easy to have one bad meal and then that snowballs into an out of control eating frenzy. However, that doesn't have to be the case. If you use some of these helpful tips, it will be easier to stay on track and continue eating healthy. 1. First, I always tell my clients to write down what they are eating everyday. This helps you visualize what you are eating and you can track your calorie count for each day. I recommend a few phone apps that will help with this. The first is MyFitnessPal is a Free App, and the second is MyMacros which costs a few dollar and only available if you have an Apple Phone. 2. Be Prepared, always have healthy snacks available to you or meals pre made so that when you do get hungry you aren't running through the drive through or going for the snack machine at work. Packing small meals or snacks is always a great way to avoid those moments. 3. Have someone that is going to hold you accountable, if you are not working with a personal trainer, then get a friend who is on the same fitness path and hold each other accountable when it comes to eating habits. 4. If you are stuck eating out somewhere, try to check out their menu online and have a game plan before sitting down to eat. Opting for lean meat and a vegetable is always a great way to go! 5.
