By Diana Chaloux - LaCerte Transformation. It’s the process of change that can alter your mind, your body and your life! Too often people are afraid of change, or they are unclear about what transformation means, so they avoid it. Over the last decade of walking people through the transformation process, I’ve heard a lot of common misconceptions. Let’s debunk some of the most common transformation myths. Let’s be clear about what it means to transform. Hopefully this clarity will be a catalyst for action if you are someone who has held back from taking positive healthy steps forward! Myth #1: To transform you have to starve yourself and not eat. This is SO not true! In fact it’s the opposite. When the goal for transformation is fat loss, you need to be eating! You need to feed your body properly throughout the day. Many people find that when they first begin it feels like they are eating far more food than they were before. One reason for this is that healthy whole foods will fill you up faster than junk foods. Quite often clients steadily increase calorie intake through transformation process rather than decrease. The goal is to stay pleasantly full throughout the day. Not stuffed, not starving. Myth #2: To transform you can only eat chicken and broccoli. So false! There is a WIDE variety of foods that is appropriate for transformation. It’s beneficial for your body to eat a variety of foods, and it will also prevent boredom. There are so many wonderful types of carbohydrates, proteins and fats that you can use for your transformation journey. And remember that if you want to sustain your losses for the long term, it is best to learn about as many foods as you can, you will be better equipped for the future. Your transformation foods should be the staples of your nutrition not just for the period of time that you’re trying to lose weight, but literally for the rest of your life.
