Hitch Fit Living Magazine Volume 2 - September/October 2015 | Page 29

If you find yourself facing temptation this October, or if you overindulge this Halloween and need to get back on track, here’s what to do. Review your goals and your motivation. What is it that you want to achieve with your body? What is the specific weight or body fat percentage that you want to be at? Why do you want to achieve this goal so badly? Is it worth it to binge on treats that will set you back? How important is it to achieve your fitness goals? How will your life and health be improved when you have succeeded? After reviewing these things get to work! Think about the healthy choices you are going to make today, tomorrow and the rest of the week. Plan your workouts, schedule them into your day and recognize that they are an extremely part of your daily plan and should not be overlooked! Get out there and achieve your goals, you CAN do it. Practice moderation and be aware of all the choices you are making. Do what is good and healthy 80-90% of the time and save your indulgences for special occasions and times when you will truly enjoy them. If you are serious about making some healthy lifestyle changes, it is imperative that you steer clear of situations which are going to create an obstacle to your success. Give that excess candy away, throw it in the trash, I don’t care what you do with it. When it is gone from your home you no longer have to struggle with the choice to eat it or not to eat it. It's not healthy for the kids to overload on sugar either. Teach them while they are young about moderation and making healthy choices. That is education that will be beneficial for them for the rest of their lives! As soon as Trick or treat time is over, trash those extra sweets and stay on track with healthy living. Halloween Healthy Tip! Rather than handing out candy to trick-or-treaters, head over to a website like Oriental Trading and pick out some fun figurines, toys or stickers. They will last longer and be healthier for the kids! Hitch Fit BooNanners! Alternative to candy for the kids!
