Heritage High School Spring Newsletter 2018

Heritage High School Newsletter Term 1 - October 2015 Issue 26 Namibia Bound 2016 Mr B Emment At 9pm on the 19th July 2016 five students from Heritage will start their adventure to Namibia in Africa. Aaron Chambers-Smith, Lauren Sabin, Lewis Salter, Patrick Wilson and Tameika Roberts have a great deal of work to do fundraising before they leave. The Namibia Bound Team need to raise £9000. They have all worked hard in the Summer holidays giving up their own time selling at Fetes, car boots, hosting events and washing cars. Many thanks to Lucy McGregor who is supporting us and first reserve to go should anything happen to one of our Team. Now the hard work really begins and they need your help. This is a massive undertaking and they will be organising bake and sweet sales, a non-uniform day as well as sponsored events, discos and shows for you to show your support. The Team will be one of six schools each taking five students to Namibia, they will be going on a training camp in April and once they get to Africa they will help out at a school for a week and then they trek across the Namib desert for 4 days. Their accommodation will be in tents and facilities will be pretty basic but they are all looking forward to this visit of a lifetime. The organisers from the British Exploring Society are keen to encourage the sense of adventure from our students. If you think you can help our fundraising efforts by way of sponsorship, please contact any of the Namibia Bound Team or Mr Emment at school. Watch out for our notices in school.
