L.D. Bell High School
L.D. Bell High School is an outstanding school which serves over
2,100 students in grades 10-12 from Hurst, Bedford, Colleyville,
Fort Worth and other nearby cities. The mission of the school
is “to provide students with an educational experience which
challenges each individual student to reach his or her full potential
now and in the future.”
What leads to success for these students?
The teachers and staff at Bell High School have highly qualified
credentials. Many teach AP or International Baccalaureate
classes, where their students’ scores exceed the world
average. Teachers have daily learning objectives for each
class to accomplish. Students know what their teachers expect
every day. Faculty and staff utilize the principles of continuous
improvement to help their students achieve more. Grades and
comparative data are posted to show students where they rank
individually and as a class. Students update their data folders to
keep up with their grades and progress.
Parents and community members volunteer to support students
at Bell High School. Last year these volunteers logged over
140,000 hours to win the HEB ISD VIPS Golden Apple Award.
Their volunteers work in various areas: they serve as TEAMS
(Together Everyone Achieves More Success) mentors, volunteer
to assist with fundraising, chaperone on trips, work in booster
clubs alongside faculty members to plan for student success
and enrichment, build and move props for shows, drive trucks
containing instruments and props, and do so much more.
In addition to their classwork, students have over 70 clubs,
teams, 2nd organizations to choose from. These activities include
fine arts, athletics, world language clubs, leadership groups,
and interest-related clubs. Each group has a faculty sponsor to
support their activities. School and community-wide interest is
encouraged by some of the big activities these clubs host.
While student success is facilitated by all of the above components,
the most important factor is the students themselves. Most
students are focused and goal-oriented to be the best they can
be every day. They are great students who want to succeed.
They make the most of the resources Bell High School provides
to reach their goals.
Because of dedicated teachers, beautiful facilities, amazing
parent and community support, and many varied activities and
events, L.D. Bell High School is a great place to be.
