This year Harwood NJHS students , along with their sponsors Ms . Reed and Mrs . Cooley , participated in the 6 Stones CPR day , giving back to the community by revitalizing homes around the HEB area . Students helped by painting , mowing , and clearing out brush for members of the community who are unable to perform these tasks on their own .
Recently , Midway Park Elementary campus adopter Atmos Energy delivered close to 80 “ blessings in a bag .” These bags are sent home with students on Fridays and provide students with food for the weekend .
On Saturday , April 30 , thousands of people enjoyed the HEB Reads ! Summer Reading Kickoff Party . The event brought families together with school and city libraries as a convenient way to sign up for summer reading programs . There was also plenty of fun : free books , inflatables , petting zoo , construction vehicle demos , and music .
On March 24 , Bell Helicopter and the BLADE leadership club presented Belliare Elementary with a $ 10,000 donation ! The gift from Bell recognizes the ongoing support that BLADE has contributed to the school , including volunteering and running school supply drives .
