Five Star Ford in North Richland Hills provided snacks for Homework Helpers Club at Hurst Hills Elementary . Homework Helpers Club is a time for students to stay after-school once a week to receive help with their homework from teachers , administrators , and community volunteers . The awesome City of Euless firefighter team presented an engaging fire safety presentation for students at North Euless Elementary . Fire Prevention Safety Week was established to commemorate the Great Fire of 1871 . The key message of this year ’ s Fire Prevention Week is “ Hear the Beep Where You Sleep ” -- install smoke alarms in every bedroom .
Lauren Osborne , Conscious Discipline Instructor , was invited to speak at the District Community Childcare Provider Partnership . Over 150 participants had a day of training on comprehensive social-emotional strategies . The partnership is a great way for community and our school district to come together to support teachers , daycare providers and future HEB ISD students .
The male faculty at Bedford Junior High put away their razors and bonded as the Beards of Bedford to support men ’ s health issues in November . During No-Shave November , participants forgo shaving to evoke conversation and raise cancer awareness .
Donna Park Elementary hosted Passport to Reading night in the fall . Students rotated through seven rooms with different reading activities . Once students completed their passport , they chose a free book . Parents received hand outs on tips for reading with their child at home .
