Euless Junior High Girl’s Athletic Program - Serving the Community Girls in the athletic program at Euless Junior High are on the move on the court and in the community. The athletes give their time at numerous events each year to support the HEB community which has done so much to support EJH sports. Athletic Coordinator Jennifer Beasley and the entire coaching staff serve alongside their athletes, leading by example. Before school even started in August, volleyball players gave up one of their last days of summer to volunteer with 6Stones’ Operation Back to School. For some girls, this was their first opportunity to truly experience the feeling of giving back, by handing out backpacks and school supplies to students of HEB ISD. Later that week, athletes and coaches woke up very early to represent the Stallion family at the Alarm Clock Pep Rally on WFAA Channel 8. During the volleyball and basketball seasons, all EJH athletes have at least one opportunity to take part in a service project. The first project of the year showed our support for the men and women who serve and protect the City of Euless. The girls prepared sweets and treats to deliver to the Euless Fire Department and Police Station. When the delivery was made, they were excited and surprised to be given a first class tour of the city’s facilities. For the second year in a row, the athletics program adopted six large families through the HEB Christmas Providers Program. They collected money, gift cards, clothing, games, and many other items to donate to the families. Thanks to the generous donations from students and staff, they were able to provide the families with all their requested items and more, providing several brand new bicycles for the children. Also during the holiday season, the girls volunteered at the 6Stones Night of Wonder events, where more than 3,000 HEB ISD children received Christmas presents. The athletes lined the hallways at Harrison Lane Elementary, singing carols, handing out candy canes, and spreading Christmas cheer. They visited with students in the cafeteria and helped them put together a craft project to take home to their parents. “I have never worked with a more generous and humble group of athletes and coaches,” Beasley said. “They are always willing to give of themselves to help those in need. There has not been one time that a coach or myself has asked the girls to attend an event that they didn’t jump at the chance to do so. They are the heart of this community and a true demonstration of what it means to be Stallion Strong and HEB proud!” 16
