#HEBISD What’s happening around the district Bell Manor Elementary students, teachers, and parents celebrated Dr. Seuss and Read Across America Day. All grades participated by heading out to Pennington Field to enjoy the sunny day and a good book! At the 2016 HEB ISD Geography Challenge, 1st place went to Maverick Ganzo of Wilshire Elementary, 2nd place to Eli Hance of Bedford Junior High, and 3rd to Samia Tas-nim of Euless Junior High. Harwood Junior High's 7th grade B girls basketball team went undefeated this season on their way to a Big 12 championship. Coach Kristen Hancock’s Lady Hawks had an overall record of 9-0. The L.D. Bell High School Lady Raiders basketball team enjoyed some team time serving dinner at the Agape Meal at Broadway Baptist Church in Ft Worth. This is a weekly banquet hosted for the local homeless & underprivileged community in downtown Ft Worth. Myles Turner, of the NBA’s Indiana Pacers, spoke to students at a Central Junior High pep rally about his time at Central and emphasized the importance of hard work. The Mayor of Euless, Linda Martin, proclaimed the day “Myles Turner Day”, and Turner a arded the first es Tur er A ard to CJH standout Jaxson Kapellusch. Members of Trinity High School’s Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers Jr. Chapter attended the Texas A&M University Junior College Day tour 26 26 program. The event promoted STEM education and provided college preparation workshops to help ease the transition from high school to college.
