As a recording artist, Bob Milne has produced ten collections of solo piano rags, blues, boogies and folk/traditional tunes. Thank you to Emerson Wickwire and Tony Fairbanks for co-sponsoring this program! Guests will enjoy the intimate atmosphere of the Crowninshield Community House. Table snacks, napkins and cups will be provided; you supply your own beverages and, yes, alcoholic beverages are permitted. Dress is nightclub casual. Seating is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Please let us know in advance if you wish to be seated with your friends. For cancelations, please allow 72 hours notice. THE KRUGER BROTHERS Monday, February 27, 2017 | 7:30pm | Auditorium General Admission $35 | Reserved Seating $60 | Sponsor $250 The Kruger Brothers personify the spirit of exploration and innovation that forms the core of the American musical tradition. Their original music is crafted around their discerning taste, and the result is unpretentious, cultivated and delightfully fresh. They perform new American folk music, or music within the folk genre inclusive of new compositional and thematic elements. Today the group is highly regarded within the world of acoustic music in North America, in particular by those within the industry. They have also gained the attention of some of the musicians, including Bill Monroe, Doc Watson, Tut Taylor, and Bobby Hicks, that once served as models. Watson once remarked that, “The Kruger Brothers are just about as fine a band as I’ve ever played with. … I love to play music with them.” WEST OF GALWAY Free Concert On The Green! As a result, the band travelled to Castlewellan, Ireland, for a once-in-a-lifetime performance at the Celtic Fusion Music Arts Festival in 2010. With a mixture of vocals, guitar, fiddle, bodhran, whistles, concertina and even bones, the upbeat tempos of these traditional Irish tunes will make you want to join in, clap your hands and dance a jig!
