Gulf Coast Fisherman Magazine Vol 39 No 2 - Spring 2015 | Page 30
Product Review
Langley History
Three Langley reel collectors met in
2005 at the Old Reel Collectors
Association (ORCA) National at
Columbia Lake, TX. They agreed to stay
in touch and share whatever information
they discovered about the reels and the
company. That friendship led to the
publishing of this book.
Segments of Langley history have
been disclosed in club newsletters,
magazine articles and other publications.
The goal of the authors was to bring that
history together and preserve it for all
those interested in the company and their
products. Their research connected to
many collectors throughout the US. They
not only enjoy tackle of the past but
occasionally fishing with or tournament
casting Langley products.
This book is wonderfully illustrated
including photos of classic aircraft whose
technology influenced fishing products
well ahead of their time, including a
perforated spool that many associate with
more modern fishing reels.
This book is the most extensive work
on Langley Corp fishing tackle and can
be ordered on Ebay or directly from
author Colby Sorrells, at P.O. Box 509,
Mansfield, TX 76063. Price is $39.95,
plus $6.00 mailing (USA). For more

New Compact Marine Receiver
Dash space is always at a premium,
but that doesn’t mean boaters need to
sacrifice listening to music on the water.
Prospec Electronics’ Milennia PRV19
Receiver is compact enough to fit in a
standard tachometer opening, yet there
is nothing small about the feature set. Its
biggest quality is Bluetooth audio
streaming.
Similar to the company’s Milennia
PRV17, which doesn’t have Bluetooth
audio streaming, the PRV19 has a 40W
x 4 internal amplifier. This AM/FM
multimedia stereo integrates USB input
for USB drive playback. Allowing for the
rapid charging of most portable devices,
the Milennia PRV19 lets owners charge
a phone. The unit also incorporates
auxiliary input.
A watertight faceplate ensures the
receiver can withstand harsh, wet
environments. UV stable for extra
durability, it has large buttons for easy
navigation. The receiver has a cut-out of
3-1/8" and an outer dimension of 4-1/8".
Prospec’s Milennia PRV19 has a
