One album that had a major
impact on me when I was
younger was UFO’s Strangers in
the Night. That was the beginning
of the end. I mean wow. There’s
all these outrageous guitar solos.
From a personal standpoint I
think that album had a lot for me,
for what my tastes were at the
time. In that particular period,
right when he did the last UFO
albums and the first two Michael
Schenker Group albums, I thought
he was playing his most melodic.
It’s quintessential. Michael
Schenker was a huge influence
on me. His guitar playing had a
lot of energy and his phrasing fit
what he was doing – fit what UFO
was doing at the time.
