chord and that sounds good.
What happens when you fret it
this way? That doesn’t sound
good, but if I move my finger
here that does sound good. You
basically invent your own chord
structure. I hear it all the time
now. After you listen to it you
realize he is in open tuning.
That’s why he is able to do all
those wild runs. He has a lot
of open strings. Stuff to jump
around on. That’s kind of the
way it came to me, as well.
I still consider myself more to
be a guitar guy – more of an
instrumentalist then a writer.
I would say if the band places
any limitations on you it’s that
it interferes with writing. I do a
lot with this band. The general
