GEAR REVIEW
FEATURES
Don’t be fooled by its slick look and low profile.
This pedal can do a LOT and there’s a ton of
horsepower under its hood. The pedal includes 9
Delay algorithms plus Looper from “Timefactor,”
10 Modulation algorithms from “ModFactor,” 10
Pitch and Delay algorithms from “PitchFactor,”
and 12 Reverb algorithms from “Space.” The
H9 Max features a new multi-effect algorithm
called Spacetime, which was inspired by the
100th anniversary of Einstein’s General Theory of
Relativity. You can combine modulation, delays,
and reverb into one, and even route delays and
reverb in a series or parallel after modulation.
An impressive “H9 Control” utility app gives
complete freedom to go deep, plus edit and
store your own presets wirelessly via Bluetooth
with iOS devices, or USB with a Mac or PC. Fully
loaded with 99 impressive presets, plus access to
over 500 additional presets, this is arguably one
of the most powerful pedals on the market.

DIGITAL EDITION
The H9 Max includes two ¼” jack inputs and
outputs for true stereo, a ¼” expression pedal
jack (expression pedal sold separately), mini USB
input, and MIDI input and output/thru jacks.
The face of the pedal has a pair of footswitches:
“Active/Bypass” doubles as “Preset Load,” and
“Tap Tempo” doubles as “Mode Toggle” to scroll
through the presets. Press both footswitches
simultaneously to engage the built-in tuner
and then either switch to exit. Preset names
and parameters are visible on a six character
alphanumeric LED display, which I found easy to
view on a dark stage. Radio style buttons labeled
Hotknob, X, Y, Z, Presets, and a large Encoder/
Switch knob provide access and control for preset
selection and parameter modifications. A few of
the buttons and switches are multi-functional, so
you’ll need to take some time and get to know
their functions. No batteries required. The unit
comes with its own power supply.
