a generation of blues and rock musicians who would forever impact the way
we play guitar. His children, as he calls them,
include “Hootchie Coochie Man,” “I Can’t Quit
You Baby,” “Back Door Man,” “I Just Want to
Make Love to You,” “Little Red Rooster,” “I Ain’t
Superstitious,” “Let Me Love You Baby,” and
“Spoonful.” I asked this father of the blues how
the form itself was developed.
