Spicy Shrimp in Tomato Basil Sauce

With the help of plump shrimp , meaty tomatoes and aromatic basil , this is the where we turn up the heat — and flavor !
Ingredients : 3 tablespoons olive oil 2 teaspoons red pepper flakes 1 / 2 red onion , diced 4 cloves garlic , mined 2 teaspoons dried Italian seasoning 4-5 Roma tomatoes , diced 1 medium zucchini , diced 1 teaspoon kosher salt 1 / 4 pound uncooked , medium shrimp , peeled and deveined 2 tablespoons sliced basil leaves
Instructions : 1 . Heat a skillet to medium heat with olive oil and add the red chili flakes before the oil becomes hot . Stir to prevent the pepper flakes from burning and sticking to the pan .
2 . Once the oil has heated up , add the onions and garlic and stir . Cook util the onions have softened .
3 . Then , add the chopped zucchini and tomatoes . Sauté and allow the juices from the tomatoes to create a nice thick sauce . Add the salt and taste for seasoning .
4 . Then , add the shrimp and stir until the shrimp have turned pink . Add the sliced basil leaves and toss . Serve with pasta , rice or hot baguettes .
