BENGAL TIGER
The national symbol of India is the endangered Bengal Tiger . The bengal tiger is revered in India for its strength and grace , as well as its incredible power . Tigers can grow to around 3 – 3.6 feet in height and weigh up to 490 pounds . Bengal tigers are solitary animals with a big appetite . A hungry tiger can eat as much as 60 pounds of food in one night ! While primarily found in India , the bengal tiger has smaller populations in Bangladesh , Nepal , Bhutan , China and Myanmar . While endangered , bengal tigers are the most numerous of all tiger subspecies with an estimated 2,500 living in the wild .
