ON BEING AN
OVERSEAS STUDENT
I put all my things in storage and
moved to France. A whole new world,
with a new language to learn, new
places to see, new art to be exposed
to and a new take on ‘savoir vivre ‘.
I explored the South of France and it’s
art history and music scene for about
6 months before I settled in Paris for 5
years. There I completed an artist residency and generally soaked up every
little bit of inspiration this wonderful
city had to offer. I strolled, I partied,
I explored, I fell in love, I learned
French and cycled around Parisian
streets for what seems like a lifetime
and I painted it all. What a chapter!
Alas it came to an end when I discovered a whole new world... London!
