Additionally, one of my
favourite parts of aid work
is that no two days are the
same. You never wake up
and think, ‘Today is Tuesday and this is what happens on a Tuesday.’ Some
people would hate having
no routine or pattern, but
I love it: it makes it impossible to sleepwalk through
life.
My least favourite part of
aid work is the frustration
I feel at seeing how things
are currently done and
knowing they could be
done better.

Describe one of your fondest
memories in your job
I have so many, it is hard to choose just one!
One of my strongest memories, though, is sitting
out on an air-strip in the middle of Jonglei State,
South Sudan at sunset and feeling overwhelmed
by the desolate beauty of the place. Even though
working in an extremely remote location has its
difficulties, I felt lucky to experience it.
