Elizabeth, a British-American TCK herself, lives
in Thailand with her husband and daughter and
works from home as a writer and freelance travel
photo journalist.
Why Thailand?
It became clear to my husband
and I after Kaya was born that
we didn’t want to raise her in a
hardcore consumer culture. So
we ended up going back and
forth between Asia and Europe
before settling on Thailand.
What were your
expectations of raising
a child in Thailand?
I expected it to be laid back and
it is! Parenting is very hands off
in Thailand. There is almost zero
supervision of young ones. We
are respected for being who we
are and we are not told who we
should be or how we should
parent.
