After you have chosen the size of your primary boot partition (at least 50GB is recommended), select that partition and press ‘Next’. Windows will then inform you that it will also create additional partitions for system files. Windows 8 will then start the installation process. Depending on hardware performance, Windows 8 will take between 10 – 25 minutes to complete the installation. Your PC will reboot several times during the installation process. It is recommended that after the first reboot, you return to BIOS and re-order the boot priority, selecting the drive you are installing Windows 8 onto as the first boot device. At this stage you may remove the installation DVD or USB stick. Once the installation process has completed we must then install the hardware device drivers. D river Installation In order to function correctly, the hardware components of the board (Chipset, Network and Audio chips for example) need a small piece of software known as a ‘driver’ to correctly interface with the Windows OS.
