Dance Class Descriptions
Mommy & Me
In this class , tots ages 18-29 months will be guided through dance and creative movement / play with a parental figure . Tots need dance attire , adults need comfortable clothing .
Tiny Toes / Pre-Ballet / Ballet / Lyrical
Tiny Toes and Pre-Ballet classes introduce simple ballet movements and terminology through fun music , choreography , and props . Lyrical ballet is the fusion of ballet and jazz and allows the dancer to express emotion through the movements . To progress to Ballet 2 , 3 or 4 instructor approval is required for enrollment . Detailed class sheets are available outside of the dance room .
Required dance attire includes :
• Leotard and tan tights
• Pink leather ballet shoes - cut laces off
• Hair pulled away from face ( in bun or braid )
• Ballet skirts may be worn
• No baggy or street clothes
• Tan jazz shoes are required for Lyrical classes . Please note : Label all shoes with name & home phone number
Tap
Develops coordination , rhythm , and timing . Participants learn technique with barre , center work combinations and routines . To progress to Tap 2 instructor approval is required for enrollment . Detailed class sheets are available outside of the dance room .
Required dance attire includes :
• Leotard , tan tights and tan tap shoes
• Tight fitting jazz pants may be worn
• Hair pulled away from face ( in bun or braid )
• No baggy or street clothes Please note : Label all shoes with name & home phone number
Musical Theatre
Learn dances and styles from classic and current musicals .
• Tan jazz shoes
Jazz / Hip Hop
Jazz dance introduces participants to new rhythms , steps , and movements in a fun and exciting atmosphere that will increase flexibility and strength . Hip Hop dancing emulates the dance steps seen in music videos or on dance teams . To progress to Jazz 2 , 3 or 4 and Hip Hop 2 and 3 , instructor approval is required for enrollment . Detailed class sheets are available outside of the dance room .

Irish Step Dance
Learn this hottest craze in dance ! To progress on to Level II instructor approval required for enrollment . Irish step shoes may be purchased from instructor . Required dance attire includes :
• Dance top and pants
• Jazz or ballet leather shoes
• Hair pulled away from face
Combo Classes
These classes offer the opportunity to explore two forms of dance each week . Please note that both shoes are required for these classes . So if the class is Ballet / Jazz the dancer needs both ballet and jazz shoes .
