We’re delighted to welcome
GDIF’s The People Build to
Queen Elizabeth Olympic
Park, marking the beginning of
a season of cultural events and
activities.
The Foundation for
FutureLondon is working with
new and existing cultural
and education partners
to build on the cultural legacy
of the London 2012 Games.
Together we are developing new
venues for the Victoria and
Albert Museum, Sadler’s Wells,
UCL and UAL’s London College
of Fashion.
Through collaboration with our
new partners and the wealth of
cultural and creative industries
in east London we look forward
to a programme of events that
will inspire, entertain, fuel
new ideas and nurture local
talent.

Devised by Olivier Grossetête
As the foundations of a new cultural district start to
be laid, you are invited to take part in a spectacular
architectural event devised by the French artist Olivier
Grossetête. At a series of workshops, hundreds of
cardboard boxes will be crafted into the building blocks of
a democratically assembled building - built solely through
human power and collective endeavour. On Saturday,
come and watch in amazement - and lend a hand - as
extraordinary new buildings rise from the ground. Then
on Sunday admire the completed building before joining
in a massive demolition.
