COOL WORK SPACES CFX Building The former Holy Family Catholic Church in the Tower Grove Park neighborhood serves a new purpose than it did when originally built. It now houses offices for CFX Inc., a St. Louis advertising agency providing comprehensive branding, logo development, website design and programming, search engine marketing and optimization, environmental graphics, package and collateral design, copywriting, direct mail and in-house photography services. CFX purchased the church and rectory in 2006, initially moving its offices into the rectory area while restoring the former church space. Repurposing the church took about a year to conceptualize, design, coordinate, and revitalize into the creative offices and studios as they exist today. Floating walls and doors were used to help divide the open sanctuary. Modern design elements define offices, board room and kitchen areas to accommodate a contemporary, professional workplace. CFX has leased the rectory space to nonprofit organization St. Louis Earth Day, and the choir loft area is occupied by The Open Space Council for the St. Louis Region. In recognition of their revitalization of the former church and school, which was closed by the Archdiocese of St. Louis in 2005, Mayor Francis G. Slay presented the 2011 Mayor’s Spirit of St. Louis Award to CFX and Marian Middle School, which is now in the former Holy Family school building. 71 SAVVY I SOPHISTICATED I SASSY
