BEAUTY & GLAM HOT BEAUTY TRENDS Natural look with a little pop By KEVYN IDOUX Timeless beauty trends like the mysterious smokey eye and the sultry red lip are almost always in season. But there are some new and bold trends for spring and summer that will give you a fresh glow. rim will add drama to any eye makeup look, as well as brighten the whites of the eyes. You can also try layering a light blue eyeliner right above your usual black or dark gray eyeliner for some added pop. Minimal or Barely There, Natural Makeup Focus on clear, translucent skin or a bronzed complexion. Switch to a lighter formulation of your favorite foundation or mix with a touch of your daily moisturizer to “thin out” the coverage, ALWAYS making sure it is an exact match to your skin. Keep your concealer to “only where you need it,” like under the eyes, sides of the nose or on those pesky skin flare-ups. Try using a peach blush to warm up and brighten your complexion. Darker skinned gals, grab the bronzer. Smokey Eyes Showing up season after season, this sultry eye look is here to stay. Remember smokey is a technique not a color, so don’t think you have to use black eye shadow. Modernize your smokey eye look by trying shades of grey or bronze. Bold Brows PUT DOWN THE TWEEZERS! This season you want your eyebrows more intense, but less dramatic, the thicker the better, and darker, but more realistic. When done properly, bold brows can be the perfect foundation for a beautifully soft, natural look. Blue Eye Makeup This one can be tricky. Don’t think about your 80s high school class pictures. A light wash across the lid is a modern and easy way to wear this fashion look. A navy eyeliner on the lower waterline or Passionate Red Lips If you prefer the focus to be on your lips, grab your favorite lip color in shades of red, berry or the “color of the year,” marsala, a rich red wine tone. Whether you prefer matte, glossy or somewhere inbetween, you’re in luck - there is no emphasis on the texture. It’s all about the red-toned lip.
