BEAUTY & GLAM Less is more? That's so last season. IT IS TIME TO THINK MORE IS MORE! A ccording to founder of  Fancy Face Inc.  and celebrity makeup artist  Brittany Gray, industry insiders are letting natural-looking makeup take a backseat to bold beauty statements that are bound to turn heads. “While I appreciate the natural makeup look, I love high-glamour beauty,” Brittany said. “Across the entire beauty industry, everyone is looking at the idea of ‘More is More’ for beauty inspiration this year. There are some really fun ways for the uninitiated to get on board with this trend.” For the boldest looks of the year, Brittany divulges her thoughts and the following beauty tips: GLITTER EYES  “I love using glitter and think it is a great look for date night or an evening out,” Brittany said. “If you’re new to glitter, start with Urban Decay eye shadow in Midnight Cowboy. It is a neutral shade of soft blush that works with absolutely any undertone. There’s also not a lot of product fallout, which means you don’t wind up with glitter all over your face. “If you’re wearing this look during the day, I would recommend keeping it fresh with a soft wash of glitter over the eyelid or by dabbing a concentrated amount in the inner corners of the eyes. No need for eyeliner with this look – just pair with a light coat of mascara, and you’re all set. If you’re heading out for a fun night, pair with a smokey eye to really amp up the drama.” OVER-THE-TOP MASCARA  “There’s a huge movement right now toward big, dramatic lashes. Think Twiggy in the 1960s - the ultimate muse for this look. Bold lashes are a look that I’ve loved my whole life, even as a teen. To me, there is nothing wrong with three coats of your favorite mascara. It opens up the eyes and is a great low-maintenance alternative to false lashes. I’ve tried a lot of high-end mascaras, but I always come back to L’Oreal Voluminous Volume Building Brittany Gray, owner and creative director of Fancy Face Inc. Mascara. It is my absolute favorite. Another great product is Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara. Both of these mascaras have a thick formula and larger bristles to really grab the lashes and make them full.” FAUX FRECKLES  “If you weren’t born with freckles, achieving the look with faux freckles can be quite high maintenance for your everyday routine. Those with an oilier complexion in particular should avoid this look, as you risk your ‘freckles’ sliding and smudging throughout the day – particularly during the warmer months. It’s a trend that is much easier to achieve for those with dry or combination skin types. “To create faux freckles that look natural, I recommend using an eyebrow pencil that is one or two shades lighter than your hair color. My favorite product for achieving this look is Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz – the tip is very fine, and the formula is relatively dry, which is perfect for creating natural-looking freckles. When applying, think about where the sun hits your face – across the top of your forehead, nose and across the tops of your cheeks - and dot the pencil lightly on your skin in a sporadic pattern. Try a small amount at first and build up density as you need to. Once you’re satisfied with the number of freckles, apply a translucent finishing powder to lock them in place all day.” For more beauty tips and information, visit www.fancyface.ca.
