cannot even begin to express how excited our team is about “ Gazelle STL ’ s ” transition to a monthly publication ! In the past three years since our launch , we have heard it all . The skepticism about the publishing industry and whether or not print is still alive . I am here to confirm that print is still very much alive . All you have to do is walk down any magazine aisle at your grocery store or pharmacy of choice , and you will see dozens of publications on the racks .
For a while , the world was very excited about tablets . There was even wide-spread speculation that it was the beginning of the end for print magazines . In fact , many of the large national magazines went through a very rough spot for several years after the 2007 recession . But didn ’ t nearly every industry ? Those that survived and continue to thrive are those that adapted to a new age . The digital age is extremely important , not only to the print industry , but to every industry . Magazines have adapted .
“ Gazelle STL ” was created at that sweet spot of digital evolution , when magazine publishers , and other businesses for that matter , were reinventing themselves to integrate the digital aspect into their long-term visions . We at “ Gazelle STL ” understand the importance of print and digital integration . Our online presence is stronger than ever , where we interact daily with our readers and advertising partners . We present our advertisers ’ brands in creative ways that enhance their advertising dollars .
On the digital side , we are thoroughly excited at gazellestl . com ’ s transition to not only cover local fashion , beauty , health and community news , but national and international happenings as well . This change has continued to drive traffic to our website . In December , our website traffic was up more than 400 percent , compared to the same time in 2015 .
On the print side , “ Gazelle STL ” has expanded grocery store distribution to Kirkwood and Des Peres . We are already in all Schnucks and Dierbergs in Brentwood , Clayton , Ladue , Town and Country , Creve Coeur , Chesterfield , Ballwin and Wildwood . We are also in all Schnucks and Dierbergs in St . Charles County , as well as all Straubs locations .
