It was a successful evening for Nurses for Newborns at its recent 19th annual auction gala at The Sheldon . The evening featured a cocktail reception , silent and live auctions , and an elegant dinner , as well as entertainment by Grammy Award-winning gospel vocalist BeBe Winans . David and Thelma Steward served as honorary co-chairs . Proceeds from the event benefit the organization in its work to prevent infant mortality ,
1 child abuse and neglect by providing in-home visits to support and educate families .
