make it in the NHL , but I have my high school and I have good marks to back up my diploma , so if nothing happens with pro hockey , I ’ d be happy to take my WHL university money and go play in the CIS someplace .” Last season , Langan ( Dec . 15 , 1998 birthday ) split his time between the Manitoba Junior Hockey League ’ s Swan Valley Stampeders and the Western League ’ s Warriors . He had 11 goals and 38 points in 33 games in Swan Valley and then had three goals and 12 points in 38 games in the WHL . For a young man who played all his minor hockey in Swan River , playing in Moose Jaw has been an easy transition . “ It ’ s pretty good in Moose Jaw , it ’ s a great organization ,” he said . “ I ’ ve met a lot of great guys here and it ’ s a really good staff . They just help me get better every day .”
Langan was selected in the ninth round ( 183rd overall ) in the 2013 WHL bantam draft ( the same year Moose Jaw picked Oakbank ’ s Brett Howden with its first pick ), and there is little doubt that he ’ s come a long way . He played two seasons with Team Manitoba at the National Aboriginal Hockey Championship and had some great seasons in bantam and midget . After playing for the Parkland Bantam AAA club in 2012-13 , he played for the Parkland Rangers midgets in 2013-14 and had 17 goals and 45 points in 44 games . In 2014-15 , he had 12 goals and 25 points in 58 games with the MJHL ’ s Stampeders and then , last year , had his first real taste of the WHL .
