WESTERN HOCKEY LEAGUE

Tristin Langan

Will Have Plenty of Options

One of Swan River ’ s best young hockey players , Tristin Langan , has the same goals as most kids in the game . He wants to play in the National Hockey League someday . But Langan isn ’ t delusional . He knows as well as anyone that when it comes to the NHL , many are called , but few are chosen . That ’ s why , on his way to WHL stardom with the Moose Jaw Warriors , Langan finished high school with strong marks . Now , if the NHL doesn ’ t come calling , the 18-year-old leftwinger can always play U Sport hockey and get himself a university degree .

Tristin Langan ’ s goal is a simple . He wants to be a professional hockey player . And , let ’ s be honest , he ’ s not the only teenager in Canada who has had that dream . However , Langan , who turned 18 on Dec . 15 , isn ’ t crazy . The young winger from Swan River knows how hard it is to reach the big time . In fact , he knows how hard it is just to get a chance . “ I think any kid wants to play in the NHL and I ’ m no different ,” said Langan late last summer at Jonathan Toews Community Centre in Winnipeg . “ I mean , that ’ s what I want . I was 17 when the season started , playing in the WHL and , yeah , someday I ’ m going to try to
