an opportunity to ask questions , receive autographs , and take pictures , but also to be inspired by the players journey to professional hockey . Josh Morrissey , Nic Petan , Anthony Peluso , and Nelson Nogier have all participated in meet and greets with WJHA kids , each bringing something unique and special to the conversation . “ To hear the excitement the kids have when I tell them about how I got into professional hockey , it keeps me grounded and is a reminder of why I started playing in the first place .” said Nogier , a defenseman for the Moose . This season is Nogier ’ s first year playing professional hockey and he has already realized the importance of connecting with young fans . “ Win or lose , I think it ’ s important to connect with our young fans after the game , especially the ones who play hockey ,” Nogier continued . “ Showing how you handle the pressure , the ups and downs , I think it speaks to the type of person you are , on and off the rink .” “ The players are inspirational to the kids and hearing their story gives them motivation to dream bigger ,” said Dwayne Green , Executive Director of the True North Foundation . The Manitoba Moose Hockey Club is committed to supporting efforts of the True North Youth Foundation that have a positive impact in the community and look forward to hosting many more meets and greets as the season continues . n
