Last October, Dresden hosted its first mini tournament with teams from Budapest, Prague and Berlin playing both Hurling and Gaelic Football. Fittingly, the cup is named after the founder of Berlin GAA who helped set up the club in 2014 and helped organise the first tournament here last year. Chris sadly passed away from a short battle with cancer soon after the tournament and so maybe there was an extra player on the field last week helping Berlin to win the biggest cup in European Hurling. This time photographer Peter Stimpel was back snapping photos but he also showed his support for this new sport in the city when bringing with him the Dresden Monarchs American Football fan club to watch the games.
