front of a big crowd. Emmetts got off to a great start with a goal after 8 minutes and by the 20 minute mark had added a further 1-3. St. Gabriels were shell-shocked and to that point could muster just a brace of points to Emmetts 2-3. Emmetts looked a team that meant business and Gabriels received another hammer blow when the last puck of the half saw Robert Emmetts grab a third goal. At half time Emmetts were cruising when leading by 3-4 to 0-4 with Gabriels having a lot of work to do to get back in the game. KEPT FOCUS Robert Emmetts continued where they left off sending over the first score of the second half before St. Gabriels rallied a little with points of their own but Emmetts kept their focus and lead in tact with scores to see things at 3-5 to 0-6 with 20 minutes remaining. Shortly after that St. Gabriels got a confidence booster when finding the back of the net but with Emmetts always able to reply the gap remained at 8 points. By the 52nd minute Gabriels had narrowed the margin further to six but from there to the finish line they could not break down a solid Robert Emmetts defense and it ended 3-10 to 1-10. After a season to forget last year, Robert Emmetts have come back with a bang and now look forward to an All Ireland Intermediate Club Quarter Final game against County Galway’s Abbeyknockmoy on Saturday, November 21st. Robert Emmetts will have ideal preparation for the Robert Emmetts (yellow & blue) battle with St. Gabriels (maroon) in the London Senior Hurling final.
